Welcome to the home page for Batsto Quilters.
This is the WWW home of the newest quilter's community in south New Jersey Feel free

Be sure to sign our guestbook so that we know you've visited.
In 2001, the Batsto Quilters began volunteering at historic Batsto Village, a
nationally recognized historic site, located in Batsto (northeast of Hammonton, NJ).
Our goal, as stated in our Mission Statement, is to reintroduce the art and
tradition of quilt making to Batsto Village. Quilt making has had a long association
with the Pinelands region of New Jersey. The Batsto Quilters are located in Cottage
#42 and the quilters spend many weekends demonstrating quilt making to the public and
planning projects to benefit the site.
In 2001 the group created the first of a
series of Batsto-made quilts that was raffled at the Batsto Village Country Living
Fair in October 2001. The funds raised were used for the conservation of the Stewart Quilt, which was made at Batsto Village around 1865
and is currently on exhibit in the Visitor's Center Museum. There are more quilts
on display at the Batsto Mansion.
Our current members can be viewed on the Members Page and our current Projects are
listed on our Events Page.
New information, features, and updates will be added as soon as they are
available. Currently, the following resources are available for your use:
We expect this site to be an on going project and hope that you bookmark it and return
often.
Mission Statement
The Batsto Quilters were established February 2001. Our goal is to reintroduce
the art of quilting and the tradition of quilt making to Batsto Village.
Through lectures, demonstrations and quilt exhibits we will serve as an informational and
educational source.
Our yearly raffle quilt will provide funds for restoration of artifacts native to the
village.
